Snoost’s website goes offline

Many of you have been eagerly waiting for the return of Snoost. Their $9 unlimited Cloud Gaming plan was very popular in our Community. In March of 2018, Snoost abruptly shut down their service. They claimed that it was to allow for further development and that it would return. Today, it is looking like they may not come back.

No Communication

After Snoost took their service offline, they immediately went silent. Their staff failed to respond to emails and messages. Several members of the Community tried to contact them on their forums and received no response.

We attempted to communicate with them several times over the past few months without any results. Even through the silence, many held out hope that they would resurface.

Snoost.com is Down

A member of the Community noticed that Snoost.com was registered as a domain until 09/11/18. Snoost had until this deadline to renew their domain and keep their website operational.

As of 09/12/18, Snoost.com is down. Instead you’ll find a placeholder from their website host.

Are they really gone for good?

All signs point to Snoost being gone for good. The combination of zero communication and website termination appear to tell the story. However it is important to point out that we haven’t received any official word on the demise of Snoost.

This is an example of a situation where we would love to be wrong. We would like nothing more than to see them rise from the ashes and continue their service.

If they are gone for good, we can only speculate as to what happened. They had mentioned in the past that they had more plans for Snoost. We actually interviewed their CEO shortly before they took down the service. He talked about expanding to Asia and partnering with Parsec. There wasn’t any indication that they would go away so abruptly. Something clearly changed, and we may never know what happened.

Making a Difference

As a Gamer, take what happened with Snoost as a warning. Small Cloud Gaming companies need your support. Especially those that push the envelope with rock bottom pricing. Their future depends on you continuing to subscribe and spread the word. If you find a company that you like, then stay with them and promote them on your social media. You are essential to their success, and even their very existence. Don’t underestimate how important you are.

I’m not in any way saying that we are directly responsible for what happened to companies like Snoost and Simplay. What I am saying is that we as Gamers need to do as much as we can to give them a chance for success. Simply subscribing isn’t enough. These companies need exposure and growth. We can help with that. Make sure that your friends all know about your favorite Cloud Gaming Service. If we all become promoters for Cloud Gaming, then services like these will have a much better chance of succeeding.
